Comic Inari T-Dress

Pattern: Inari T-Dress from Named Clothing

Size: 36 shortened length about 10cms

Fabric: Reversible Double Gauze ( comic pattern/plaid)

My first Inari at last! I had been wanting to make this forever.

It was such an easy make. Clear instructions and up to date design. 

I especially liked the way the split hems are constructed. 

The fabric is a cotton double gauze I found on an auction site. I've been buying more fabric on auction lately. 

Many Japanese sewists on Twitter seem to have their secret auction partner somewhere and mine happen to be some Japanese denim factories selling their sample stock or a small import fabric store in the suburbs selling fabulous European knits. This one came from one of the denim factories.

The dress is breezy and so comfortable. I wish I could wear it more often, but the problem is that I can't nurse my baby in it. 

One more problem I had was that the fabric clings to a dangerous length when I pair it with my Ergo. I noticed at the last minute before I was walking out the door and I couldn't find any leggings to wear underneath, so instead I grabbed the Turia dungarees and pushed the hems inside. 

So it turns out that I can wear it as a blouse too. 

I might cut off the hem to a T-shirt length, or I might leave it for the next summer. We'll see. 

I do love the pattern though. 

I am thinking of making it in baby weight denim or denim jersey for autumn layering.

Paired with Turia Dungarees.

NamedのInari T-Dress(ワンピ、クロップドブラウス兼用パターン)。丈が違うだけかと思ったら、脇線もブラウス丈とワンピ丈では違いました。

そういえば、NamedはここのところPDFの重ね書き廃止したのかな？最近、たまねぎ工房と並んで一番良く買ってるパターン屋さんですが、悪評高かったPDFなのに重ね書きにはしばらく遭遇してないような気がします。

あと、海外パターン屋で「ここでまとめてこのパーツとこのパーツのロック処理済ませといて…」みたいな指示があるのも珍しい。たまねぎさん的親切さで、縫いがスムーズです。

Twitterでアッパッパー祭りを見てからすごいアッパッパー熱があがってた中でこれを見て、これこそがマイ アッパッパーパターンだ！と思って買ってました。暑い時に作れば良かったのに、ようやく縫えたのは９月なってから…

家の中で着るのに涼しくて最高です。

生地は、オク出身のコミック柄/チェックリバーシブルなダブルガーゼ。本来ダブルガーゼみたいな自然素材感たっぷりなものは似合わないんですが、柄的にシャープなんでアリな気がしてます。

ただ、今年は授乳があるので外で着るのはお預け。短時間の外出なら行けるかと思ったのですが、玄関でエルゴ装着したら丈があられもないところまでずり上がってることに気づいて慌ててレギンスを探したものの見つからず…オーバーオールに裾を押し込んでみたら、意外と着れちゃいました。

秋の重ね着用にデニムでも縫おうかなーと妄想中。

Dark indigo Turia Dungarees

Size: 36 (Shortened torso by 2cm, Length by 10cms)

Fabric:Light weight stretch denim.

 I've been eying on the dungarees (or overalls in American English, which I am more used to) trend for a while, but was hesitant because of the fear that it might make me look too childish. 

 Which made me be extra cautious on the details of these dungarees. I tried to keep everything sharp and dark as possible.

Using matching top stitching thread and matte silver buckles I think I managed to keep from getting all Dr.Slump Arale-ish.(FYI Dr.Slump was a popular Anime series back in the 80s).

As you can see, the pockets are almost invisible.I have to say, it was hard to keep up my motivation whilest running all these rows of invisible top stitching.

One thing I changed from the original instructions is that I used my serger to finish most of  the seams instead of installing French seams. 

I have been following the designer 's blog for a while and know that she doesn't own a serger herself. She said that she makes sure all her instructions  are available to follow without sergers. It took me some time to figure out the best way to construct the bodice part without bias tape or French seams, but I guess it tuned out fine. 

One thing I need to change next time is the length. Being only 148cms tall, it's my usual routine to shorten the length by 10-15cms. However, I should have noted that the designer was petite size too. She is 155cms and wearing the same size. My pants turned out to be cropped at the best length without rolling them up, which I did want to do. 

All in all, I love the pattern. The pockets are big and convenient. I'm actually using my chest pocket a lot. It's comfortable, care free, and nursing friendly.

初めて買ったお店だったけど、PDFは張り合わせしやすく、テキストも比較的分かりやすかった。

ただ、デザイナーはロックミシンを持っていないらしく、全てロックなしで組み立てられるように書いてある。折かぶせ縫いに次ぐ折かぶせ縫いは面倒くさすぎて、全部ロック処理に変更してみた。

Stay stitchも全て伸び止めテープに変更。

脱アラレちゃんするべく、出来る限り大人っぽい仕様を目指してステッチは目立たない30番糸で。バックルはマットなシルバーのものを選んでみた。

着心地楽チン、ポケットも大きくて便利でヘビロテしております。ドラえもんポッケが、駐車券入れたり飴ちゃん入れたり何気に便利(笑)。胴回りは身体にフィットしてフランス人デザイナーらしい雰囲気です。

一つだけ失敗したのが、裾の長さ。

海外パターンだから、いつも通りガッツリカット…と思って切ってしまった結果、ロールアップする分の長さが足りなかった…

サンプルを着用してるデザイナー本人が身長155cmというのを見逃しておりました。全体的に小さめの作りっぽいので、日本人には、挑戦しやすそうなお店です。
